EMC Events - Excitement is building for the third annual North Grenville Environmental Fair, which is being held Sunday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the W.B. George Centre on the University of Guelph-Kemptville Campus.

You are invited to come and renew your commitment to a greener community. You will find plenty of inspiration, ideas and practical information to keep to your green goals as well as set new ones. Come and share what you are doing to be 'more green' in your daily life.

This year we will have a kids village full of fun activities such as face painting, crafts and games, a Waste Reduction Zone, an Eco-Fair featuring local green businesses, and Green Thumbs Up!, an area with gardening, local trails, conservation areas and other lifestyle booths.

On stage, there will be a number of short presentations including Andrea Howard's 'Skulldiggery,' and slide shows of local green initiatives. In addition, Teens Unplugged will provide music throughout the day to liven things up even more.

At the Eco-Fair, you will find vendor booths and information from: the branch restaurant, EcoGen Energy, the Kemptville Kinsmen's Farmers' Market, Kikko Soapworks, Nature's Way, New Terra Farm, PBM Environmental, R&B Heating, and Mrs. Wlostski's Natural School of Cooking.

Over in Green Thumbs Up!, Bodhi Tree Yoga, CPAWS (Canadian Parks and Wilderness), CMHC (Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Drifter's Outdoor, Friends of the Ferguson Forest Centre, Kemptville Horticultural Society, REAL (Rideau Environmental Action League), Rideau Trails Ottawa, and the RVCA (Rideau Valley Conservation Authority), will offer environmentally friendly choices for active living.

And at the Waste Reduction Corner, the Kemptville Youth Centre will provide a drop-off for used cell phones and printer cartridges, and the North Grenville Waste Reduction Committee will answer your questions regarding current initiatives to reduce the load on our landfill.

Come out for a fun family event and learn how you can make every day Earth Day! So, please mark your calendars for April 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the W.B. George Centre on Kemptville Campus and join us in celebrating Earth Day 2010.
