March 26 UCLG sector panel to discuss small business, BIAs and Chambers in Merrickville

EMC Business - The next session in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville's (UCLG) economic development summit sector panel series is set to take place March 26 in Merrickville.

The sector panel series, being held in partnership with the UCLG and Leeds-Grenville MP Gord Brown, is being held to assist with the development of future strategies for economic development. The March 26 session will focus on small business/BIAs and Chambers and runs from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Merrickville Community Centre. It will also feature the Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism) as the keynote speaker.

Registration for the event begins at 8:15 a.m., with the session getting underway at 8:45 a.m. The cost to register is $15 (including lunch) and advance payment is required. Cheques can be made payable to the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, c/o Rosemary Van Rooi, 32 Wall St., 3rd floor, Brockville, ON, K6V 4R9. "We have over 35 people registered so I am expecting strong attendance," noted Van Rooi in a circulated email. "Early registration is greatly appreciated in assisting with our planning."

UPCOMING PANELS

There are three more sector panels remaining in the series, including those on May 7 regarding not-for-profit organizations, May 28's will focus on responding to the needs of youth/education/training, and wrapping up on June 11 with a discussion on future directions.
